Reforming Arrest in America

Most blacks being killed in America has often occurred during arrest causing an outrage that has failed to find a solution. While many are calling for an overhaul of the system to allow justice for every one — now turn into black lives matter, and by extension, every life matters, I am of the conviction that principally, the arrest process in America has got a lot to do with ending unnecessary killings of Blacks. The US continues to practice very old styles of administering justice ingrained into racial mentality and practices which needs to end and end right now. By standards and evidence collection in the US, it is convincingly unarguable to suggest that there is too much advancement in crime investigation to still use rudimentary styles. For instance, we can trace a crime perpetrator by fingerprint, video footage, eyewitnesses etc. I have even learned that people can be traced through transactions and banking details. If all these is possible, then there is no need to conduct on the spot arrest.

On this note, I am proposing changes to the arrest processes in the US to ensure that no lives are ever lost. The proposing alternatives are possible in any advance system where citizens and immigrants are registered and can be traced by their identity. America has reached that recognition and so, the need to innovate arrest is inevitable. It is only avoidable if the system still feels that Black Lives Does Not Matter.

Please consider the following:

1. For all crimes committed which have an evidence and can be independently verified by a competent court, Banks should be regulated to deduct fees and fines from individuals account using court documents as attachment to withdrawals. In this case, for instance, a person committing traffic offense does not need to undergo any arrest. Collect the crime evidence trace the person and once the court can verify the crime and pass a judgement, the fees can be deducted directly from the person’s account or his work salary. This also means review to Labour laws to allow such deductions.

2. Secondly, all crimes committed which require arrest should now be innovatively regulated to make use of Court Warrants — respectfully inviting citizens to response to allegations registered against them. Police work must now be to collect evidence, sent the evidence to court and the Court will independently decide whether to send a warrant or warming to the interested person. Where a warrant is deemed necessary, the court will do so using court personnel and a special determination should be used to make use of people of same race or gender to the interested person.

3. In violent crimes, where direct bullets are exchange, that could still be maintained as it is done presently — The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) should take over this section using mix teams (gender, race, etc. should be used). The reason why it is necessary to use the FBI is to ensure that the Federal Government takes responsibility using one single system.

This way, we will limit police harassment and arrest — transforming all arrest into specialized and respectful processes ordered by the Court. This will limit the way people are treated during arrest because citizens will now be invited by a court warrant to appear before the court to answer to offenses. In furthering the above suggestions, the court must be regulated. When some one is invited and refused to appear, no need to hunt them, using their work and banking details, the court should develop innovative means to get the person. In this case, arrest will be the last resort and could include a serious crime should you allow yourself to be arrested.

My concern is that no matter the reforms, if the Arrest processes in the US are not regulated and innovated, the killings of innocent souls will continue. And since we live in a world of knowledge and wisdom, people could circumvent the law to their advantage, in this case, the police could.

In another form, the ongoing discussions to de-fund the police will not be a good idea as these officers can still help reduce crimes. However, if FBI can increase its operations, no need for police.
